I am currently a council member and I was the Mayor of Menlo Park in 2015. I am a former Menlo Park Parks and Recreation Commissioner, and have been a community volunteer for over twenty years.

I have served as the Chair of several committees with the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and co-authored a position paper for the Chamber on High Bit Encryption Exportation. I was a member of the advisory team that met with United States Congressional representatives to review the World Trade Organization's position with China, and met with the Federal Communications Commission on a number of fact-finding trips to Greater China.

I lived in Hong Kong for over 10 years, where I launched Equant in North Asia, founded and served as Managing Director of Digital Island in the Asia Pacific Australia region, and founded and managed the Search Bank in Hong Kong and the US. I also helped publish two books that raised funds for a special needs school and the World Parrot Trust in Asia.

For the past 20 years, I have served the community at both the state and local level. After moving to Menlo Park, I became Vice-President of the Sharon Heights Homeowners Association, joined the board of the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and volunteered as an after school tutor at the Boys and Girls Club. Through my work with the Junior League, I supported Project Read, Fostering Families and HIP Housing to name a few.

I worked successfully with California Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, Assemblyman Sandre Swanson, and State Senator Jerry Hill and State SenatorJoe Simitian to draft legislation that has addressed human trafficking, domestic violence, protected women's health, and made it possible for children to get a head start in education. As a mother of two young children, I helped run my daughter's Girls Scouts troop, and was president of the Las Lomitas Education Foundation.

I attended Tulane University, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Communications. I then moved to London to complete my MBA at the Cass Business School, where I was President of my class with the Dean's Honors.
